Harmonie 1
Their very varied repertoire and their musical level make Cadets de Genève an ensemble appreciated by local, regional and international event organisers. Concerts, parades, festivals, fêtes and other events allow our young musicians to perform in prestigious venues in Switzerland and abroad. During their history, and more particularly over the last twenty years, the Cadets de Genève, easily recognised in their royal blue uniform, have represented their city of Geneva and Switzerland in many countries including the United States (1989), Canada (1995, 2004 and 2011), Denmark (1996), France (1992 and 1998), Germany (2005), England (1976 and 2000), Sweden (2008), China (2014), Croatia (2017) and a planned trip to Japan for 2023. The student follows a wind or percussion instrument training course and joins Harmonie 1 at the earliest during the 4th year of instrumental study. They continue their learning of orchestral playing in a larger ensemble with a more demanding musical level. Harmonie 1 performs in concert throughout the year in an eclectic repertoire ranging from wind orchestra repertoire to classical music, film scores, jazz, variety etc. Harmonie 1 regularly participates in events and parades mainly in the canton of Geneva, notably during promotions.
