The Great History of Opera
Four centuries of opera squeezed into one hour, told as a show rather than a lesson. A lecturer, a prima donna, and a pianist set off on a far-fetched journey from Monteverdi to Strauss, arguing all the way about whether music should serve the words or outshine them. It's sung and spoken in French and lasts an hour.
