Contemporary jazz language
The "langage jazz contemporain libre" course allows students to immerse themselves in the world of current jazz through the study and practice of compositions representative of styles such as European jazz, neo-soul, and odd-meter music. Students will be led* to work on both the analysis of works and their own writing, while developing improvisation skills in a collective setting. This course highlights emblematic figures like Kenny Wheeler and Wayne Shorter, while offering a reflection on the plurality of music played today. Participants will thus discover the multiple facets of contemporary jazz, while developing their own musical language.
