Sight-reading for young pianists
The sight-reading course for pianists is designed to introduce students to a varied repertoire, ranging from contemporary music to jazz and classical. Each week, students discover new scores and practise performing sections of them at first reading, thus strengthening their reflexes and sight-reading habits. This dynamic practice, combining individual and collective approaches, promotes knowledge of musical signs, such as solfège elements, clefs, and rhythms. In addition, it develops an in-depth understanding of musical language, including tonality, modality and structure. By practising a variety of aesthetics, pianists acquire essential skills that will prepare them to tackle a wide range of musical repertoires.
