MƏKTƏB GÖY GUŞ, the first school of Azerbaijani language and culture in Switzerland, opened in 2016 at the "Синяя Птица" school. The school has two groups: for toddlers aged 4 to 6 and for children aged 7 to 14. These classes were a great success, and in April 2017, at the request of parents and students, an Azerbaijani national dance lesson was added to the programme. Throughout the academic year, the children eagerly mastered the basics of the Azerbaijani language, and also became acquainted with the culture, traditions and history of their native country. The lessons were fun and informative. And already in March, our students demonstrated what they had learned at the spring national Azerbaijani holiday "Novruz Bayram". This was the first children's "Novruz Bayram" in the history of Switzerland! The "Синяя Птица" school sincerely thanks the students and teachers who prepared a wonderful festive programme, as well as the parents who helped with the organisation of the holiday.
